It just occurred to me that I have a 32-LED work light out in the barn which might work nicely for knife photography. I'd put a sheet of plastic sheet diffuser in front of it so as to soften all those little "point sources".

Has anyone used LED's for photography. I'm wondering where they sit in the color temp range.

I've never tried LED lighting for photography Jim, I'm using Alien Bees Strobe lights. No reason the Leds wouldn't work though...you can always adjust the color of your white balance in Photoshop.
