Recently removed the original black covers and replaced them with European red stag on this 1972 Case Sodbuster.  Original covers can be seen lying to the left of the knife.

Nice work!

Kept some of the patina on the blade and certainly upgraded those scales.  I am liking it.  :)

Beautiful set of scales but I kinda miss the birdseye pivot.

Thanks JJ.  I'd planned on the birds eye, but the ones I had were the wrong size so I went with a large brass pin instead.

I really think that CASE kicked themselves when they removed the birdseyes from the majority of the Sodbuster line.  They're just so iconic especially when they don't have a shield.
