I acquired this Japanese floating fish knife in not so good condition.

After it had been sitting around the house for a bit, I made the decision to redo the entire thing.  As I started to clean and refresh the knife, I was surprised how rough and dirty the initial condition was.

After a lot of cleaning, sanding, and even some filing on the blade, I reattached it into the handle.  I was rather limited as to what I could do with the pin without altering things too much.  Cleaning and sanding the handle and saya was one of the last steps in refreshing this thing.

I undoubtedly spent too much time and effort redoing this knife for what I see other similar knives selling for.  But at least this one is looking decent again.
