I too am a 'Life Member'; also a 'Knife World' Ambassador (Life member) and would like to candid about the 'NKCA'. This organization ceased to be viable many, many years ago. Doubt what I have said? Email me privately and I will explain. There is no…Continue

Sounds to me like someone has taken the NKCA money and run.  I have been and I know other NKCA members have been trying to get in touch with this Lisa Sebenick (Davis, Boyles).  To no avail.  I have some possible leads and have called her grandson.…Continue

Like several of you, I am still trying to get the youth knives that I ordered and paid for through Pay Pal in April, 2014. We had to order these knives in advance of delivery, so since Pay Pal only gives a limited time to get your money returned, of…Continue

Scott.

Somewhere along the line I read that someone suggested charging an extra $1.oo for the NKCA membership if the member didn't have an email adderss.  Two comments about that: 1). a dollar would only cover the cost of mailing 1 newsletter 2). there are a lot of places to get a free email address, yahoo, google, hotmail, bigfoot,... so why would anyone with a computer be without one?  Put links to these URLs so members can obtain an account.  As usual Steve's suggestion are great.  You have already read my "throw it against the wall" post from March 5, but I believe the thing to remember is the website is going to be the main method of communications and needs to have lots and lots of content to attract the membership back.  In the internet age, attention spans are very short.  You have 12 second to capture someone landing on your site.  Stick something interesting in my face as soon as I land or I'm gone.

Posted a new discussion asking for ideas/suggestion on the Technology/Communications Plan I'm working on for our friends over at All About Pocket Knives, asking for their help too. There are quite a few NKCA members there too.
I've also emailed the moderator of BladeForums asking him to tell me the best place to post a similar new discussion there.
If you are a member of other online venues we could get additional NKCA members, or folks who can offer ideas who might not even be a member, please let me know. I want to get every corner online we can get fresh ideas.
Thanks

Steve,

A technical area on the site would be nice. There we could find factual info like tang info, knife part diagrams, Knife makers contacts and examples of their work, knife company history, ete & etc. Also maybe a list of suppliers
