Some of the proportions might be a touch off, but it is a S&W N frame magnum available in various cartridges. Looks a 8 3/8 inch barrel. patridge sights. the target stocks are a little out of wack Kinda sort a like only same thing, but different. Why, because I opened my safe the last time I read the name . model 29 44 magnum 6 1/2 barrel here.

I was thinking maybe Colt because of the shape of the cylinder release button.  I agree that the shape of the grips is slightly off.  However remember it is a cheap Chinese knife so we can't expect perfection.  It is a shame we can't rotate the cylinder.  That would tell us for sure.

 I think I can see little tiny notches in the cylinder with the locking notches pointing down, indicating the direction of travel is the wrong way. A Colt rotates in the correct way which is they way the turn in toward the locking cylinder, as opposed to the wrong way, which is the S&W way.   Just kidding about seeing the notches,.Good point and the depiction is art intended to suggest the firearm , which is more pleasing  and showing more character in the work,  rather than trying to make a true copy. The shape of the sides also reminds one of the shoulder stock attachments, which when folded over or stored whether metal frame or wood.  Marbles game getter or shoulder attachment more likely found with Mausers or Lugars. Very interesting.

It is a loose version of the Smith & Wesson K-Frame 6" Model 19.  Due to the grip being smaller than an "N" frame I discounted the Mod. 29 .44 mag.  This looks to be a cool little knife.

This is a good group. I am enjoying these considerations beyond  I expected. I continued considering your suggestions  and hope I am not suggesting an exact match.   What was modeled and what may have been common options rather that any option available could also led me to err. If the stocks were a misshapen standard stocks , instead of  mishapen targets, I think I would say  Clint has the better answer. The patridge should have directed me to more consideration. I had 17, 19 and 27, in  patridge 6 or 8 3/8,, but my 29s were not common with that sight with any barrel length and I think he has again better the answer.

Smiths and Colts are my favorite pets and I apologize if I have worn out your interest.

You have nothing to apologize for.  I like talking about and discussing both knives and guns.  It would take a whole lot to wear out my interest in either one.  I am still a relative newcomer to serious knife collecting and still have a lot to learn.  This forum has helped me a lot.  At this point I probably know more about guns than knives.  Right now I don't own any Colt's (unless you count one Colt knife) although I have owned a few in the past.  In my younger and dumber days I either sold or traded them off.  I do own two Smiths.  I have more Rugers than anything else.  I have eight of them.

   Good to hear.  I am  sure you know that Rugers are tough . I have seen  what happens when Colt, Smith and Dan Wesson guys don't listen .
