I have never heard of a black fox before.  I suppose its possible.   I have gotten pictures of black coyotes.  But I think it is because a coyote bred with a black dog.  As I compare it to the picture of my fox it does have some fox features.  I believe it must be either a cat or a fox.  Too bad the flash on your camera didn't go off.

I have heard of a black fox, though very rare. But not around here. The more I look at it, I cannot see a cat - but maybe. How strange. I think it was just turning dusk, and the flash didn't go off.

Charles, someone lighted up the photo and it looks like it is a very large black cat with a mouse in its mouth, you can even see the tail of the mouse hanging out. What a Cat.

I used to have an aunt who many years ago had a cat that weighed nearly 30 pounds!

I have killed coyotes in three different colors. Grey, Black and Redish.

Talk about your basic "Deer in the headlights" look!

This digitally enhanced infrared image shows the young Buck's eyes as they actually appeared when the flash went off...

Whoa! Now that's SPOOKY!

Cool

Wow...glow in the dark, deer.
