Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I like USA made Schrades & Schrade-Walden knives...obviously. Old Timers, Uncle Henry's and the models that pre-dated those lines. Saw-cut Delrin, Stagalon, Butter-n-Molasses, etc. handles. They're all great in my book.

I am proceeding slowly with adding to my collection, in the beginning I was going like gang busters. But, the pickings are getting slim at least for good/great condition knives.

Although I am not buying much now, I never tire of seeing them or looking for them. So if you have some or have come into some, let me see them.

Eventually I will try to get all I currently have into 1(or 3) photos for this discussion. For now these will have to do.

Gotta say, I am loving the acquisitions recently. All of them are gorgeous...but where are all the users? They need some love too.

Nothing like a free knife drawing to get me posting again.

The morning after posting the picture of my Schrade Walden 291...the only 291 trapper I had ever seen or heard of, in the 5 Favorite Schrades...there on Ebay was one mislabeled as a 294. In total ignorance I had found a Schrade that the "experts" knew nothing about, an unknown model #  with an unheard of brass shield. All I could think of was why couldn't I have waited another day to post those pictures. Same brass shield, same tang stamp. Here was a fairly good argument that the one I had wasn't a fake, and I had just told the story to the world...Okay, not the world, but that was what I was thinking at the time. I was in panic mode. The auction was ending in a few hours so I sweated it out, placed a huge bid for a very well used knife, and got it for $15.55 plus shipping. No matter what direction my knife collecting goes, or what other brands I take a shine to...Queen, GEC,..I'll love Schrades the best! With Schrades, nothing is written in stone, and even a old blind hog can stumble on an acorn.

Picked up two very nice Schrade Made Barlows recently

You Don't See Too Many Of These   123 OT

I've been looking for a good deal on a 14OT or 144UH for awhile now. Congrats Brad.

I am very excited about adding this Distinguished Gentleman's knife to my Schrade Collection. It has solid 14K gold handles and bail....sold for $125 in 1946...with inflation that would be around $1600.00 today.

The ad pictured is an original full page ad 10"x13" from the December 1946 Fortune Magazine.

Just got this one in. A Schrade Walden single backspring 787WE Wonda Edge Muskrat..1957-58 It has jigged bone handles...I'll have to find a shield for it.

This is not a recent addition but I did not want to start a new thread just for this. The 125 OT was a favorite hunting folder of mine for a long time. Then later I discovered it had a smaller variation the 123 OT. I have had and used several over the years this is my current user with Red Covers and "Bulldog" Brand. I have always assumed the "Bulldogs" are a sporting team and most likely one from the USA but there are so many of them I have not been able to establish which team this was made for.

As an aside there is even the Denver Bulldogs - Australian Rules Football Team

Or perhaps I am totally on the wrong track ... can anyone tell me what the "Bulldog" on this knife refers to??

Thanks Derek

I believe it is a commemorative of the Georgia Bulldods but I am not positive. I know Schrade did several knives for the Georgia Bulldogs.

Yep, That is UGA
