I have just finished this handle and I would like to have some comments on the scrimshaw please

Looks really nice. Great job.
Good work! Looks like a handle that will hold up to some use, too - the incisions are nice and deep. How are you going to protect it? (for my work I use Renaissance wax, but I'm not sure if that'd hold up on something that's used every day).

Your perspective is good and all art is good. The problem with antler is it is soft and will not allow great detail. In the future after the handle is sanded to 600 coat the area for scrim with super glue and let it set up for a couple of days sand it again with 600 and buff it so you leave the super glue as a surface. You can now put more detail and retain better color because the ink will only go into the scrimmed area instead of soaking into the antler. I hope this will help you add detail...HutcH
