My son bought a Persistence a few years ago. It is another of the "value folder" line Spyderco makes. He has stated several times that it is possibly his favorite of the knives he has. He has a Delica, Manix2 and a few others in the normal Spyderco selection. The blade steel is 8Cr13MoV. I think this steel costs less than some of the other's Spyderco uses. However, I feel it is JUST AS GOOD as most other blade steel's used by other companies. I've used it and while the edge retenion isn't what you would expect from S30V, XHP or some of the other blade steels Spyderco uses, it is a very good steel. I would buy any knife with this steel if I liked the other features of the knife. 8Cr13MoV isn't hard to sharpen at all and will get VERY sharp. Anyway, the blade steel is the only thing I consider a "value" feature of these knives. These knives are built very strong and will hold up to some very hard work.  The Tenacious is IMO a very nice knife as all of the value Spyderco's are. They are as good in quality as about any other knife and better than a lot of them. When I compare prices I always go to cutleryshoppe.com. This site routinely has prices about as good as you can get. Here is a link for the knives that showed up when I searched on "tenacious".

For me, the tenacious is the starting size of larger folders. The persistence my son has is plenty large enough for my needs for an EDC knife. OTOH, I normally carry more than one knife and one of them is larger or for harder tasks should I come across them.

At the $38 price range I think any of these knives is a great deal. Very solid knives that will handle harder work IMO than more traditional pocket knives. The G-10 handle scales provide plenty of grip with wet or dry hands. They can be disassembled if you need to. That does void the warranty though but I like being able to disassemble knives for a thorough cleaning or to make different scales.

Can somebody give me their opinion spyderco tenacious.
I saw in on Amazon for only $38 and am considering buying it for a primary edc.

I have been drooling over the Rubicon model, but just haven't pulled the trigger yet! One reason is that I am trying to sell another knife to fund my new WANT, but I am trying to get some feedback on the Rubicon. Thank you all!!

Still loving the Worker. Of course that doesn't mean I had to leave it alone. Here it is now with a set of Bocote wood scales.

I used polyurethane on them and that provides a very good grip even though it's smooth. The smooth finish also makes it easier to pull out of my pocket when clipped. Also it won't do as much damage to my pants pocket over time. I may need to make several sets of scales for this knife. :)

I got this Spyderco worker sprint run (VG-10, G-10) a month or two ago. I fell in love with it after having it for about 3 days. When I think about the individual features of this knife like blade steel, handle material, ergonomics, etc. none of the individual features jump out at me as "the best" in each category. But as a whole this is just a GREAT knife. I've loved other knives but I don't remember feeling about them like I feel about this worker sprint. It's even hard to explain. Anyway, here's a picture.

Here's another picture of the worker with my new Carter fixed blade for size comparison. The blade on the Carter is 85mm or 3 3/8". I don't remember the actual length of the worker. Everything about the worker "JUST WORKS". LOL

OK, my favorite so far seems to be a Spyderco Kiwi. I like the shape of the blade and the way it feels in my hand. Mostly though, I like the way it photographs. Tiny changes of position catches the light differently, changing it's appearance subtly.

Yeah, hang onto to them, Patrik. They're like money in the bank and they will only go up in value with the passing of time. As I'm sure you know, the knife market is going crazy right now -- especially on eBay. Everyday I see knives that I bought just a year or two ago selling in auctions for two and three times what I paid for them. Spyderco sprint runs are really ridiculous! *sigh*

Thanks Ron and you are right they will be more valuable in lets say 10 years. So for now I'm not in hurry to sell them so they will be a proud part of my collection and who know maybe one day when the time and price is right I will sell them to get something else.
