Stockman and cattle knives of yore are some of my favorite knives. I just signed up today and am learning how to navigate these unfamiliar waters; I thought I would post an image of a Challenge stockman.

I used to carry and still like the Stockman pattern. I have only a few in my collection, but I really like them all. Here are a few of mine.

Don't forget that this group is also for Sowbelly knives, basically a sagging frame of a Stockman.

Let's see if we can give a little boost to the Stockman Pattern Group. What Stockman have you been carrying lately? Any new acquisitions? Any manufacturers or custom knife makers currently have a fantastic Stockman that you got your eyes on and your wallet filling up for?

James, I would also, the Queen 49 like the Case 6375 has the heft and sturdiness to complete many tasks!

Rick Hooper, I recently purchased a Queen Model 49 which had been issued to the Canadian military in their paratrooper survival packs. I thought that to be a lithe bizarre. I have a little more info if you want to know.

Purchased a 1950-60's Big Queen Steel model 49 yesterday. It one of a few large stockman, that has enough blade to multi-task as a hunting and fishing knife.

I purchased a Hen & rooster stag handled knife, model 173 DS which needs a shield. Does Bertram supply these? The local knife repairman has tree brand Boker, which fits perfectly. But what would it be, a Hen Roosted?

I have been sharpening knives on the bottom of china plates for decades.  I strop, very carefully, on the palm of my hand.  Not going to shave with it, but it will be cutting sharp.
