I added an alox Rambler by Swiss Bianco to my collection last week. I already posted some pics on my page but wanted to share it here, also. This was the second run of alox Rambler's that Roger, Swiss Bianco, did. This one has VICTORINOX actually stamped on the engraving panel. Apparently Vic plans to do this on all of their 58mm knives in the future. This run was the first to get it!

Here it is...

So far silver is the only color in this second run. The first run had red, orange, and purple in addition to the silver but did not have the Vic signature on the panel. It's a very cool little knife. I really like the magnetized head on the Phillips screwdriver. If you can live without the toothpick and tweezers it is a nice alternative to the Classic.

Cheers, mates!

This looks to be a classic. Real brick outhouse construction. Ron, your photography is exceptional -- did you make the beaded bands on the fob/lanyard??

hi, andy! yep, it's hard to beat the quality of victorinox. or wenger, for that matter. now that they both fall under the same umbrella--victorinox--i suspect that we will continue to see the same fine quality for quite some time into the future.

yes, i make the same basic lanyard for many of my knives and key fobs. if those are what you're asking about and not the bead work on the antler in this photograph? the beads on the antler were the work of a native american whose tribe i have long forgotten the name of. sorry. i did know at one time but it has been so many years i simply cannot remember.

my lanyard work is very basic. the knot is easy to learn. in fact, this is the same lanyard knot that is found on many of chris reeve's sebenzas. i just add a bead or two and use 550 paracord with a plastic closure on the end. here is a youtube link that is actually a great tutorial for that knot: How To - Chris Reeve Style Lanyard

i appreciate the compliment for my photography. thanks! i am using a really old 2 megapixel camera--a sony mavica--and enjoy experimenting with it. i am not a photographer by any stretch of the imagination.

cheers, my friend!
