John, That Case Appaloosa , a darn nice looking knife, looks very similar to this Sargent (Queen) Appaloosa

D ale, the two knives with the rope jigging are un-finished Schrade knives. What I mean by unfinished,is that they were meant to be part of 5 knife 100 Anniv. set. When Schrade was going bankrupt, anything that could be assembled , was. They should have a shield and an etching on the blade. I have seen a few pictures of finished blue bone knives but have not held one.

Herman Williams found 12 sets of the ACB80 Blue Bone scales on Ebay. He sanded them down a bit and then re-jigged them.

This little blue knife is pretty much a nothing knife in and of itself.  But I like it because of the story behind it and the memories it brings back.

My family had traveled out west on vacation and rented a cabin in the mountains of Colorado.  There was a lake near the cabin.  We went to a small town nearby to buy temporary fishing licenses.  The little store where we bought licenses had a box of knives on the counter.  They were marked mostly in the $2 to $8 range.  So I nosed around in the box to see if any thing caught my eye.  In the bottom of the box I found this little knife but it wasn't marked.  I held it up and asked the clerk how much it was.  She said free.  I said sold and stuck it in my pocket.  So I got the knife for nothing.  That is if you ignore the 3,000 mile trip I took to pick it up!

That is one deep blue jigged bone in the Boy Scout camp knife, trapper, & ?stockman?. What brands are those ??

The blue in the Kabar is similar to the blue in the Bear & Son's titanium toothpick. Almost a green in comparison.

Part of that may very well be in the pic/monitor factors.

All are pretty. Didn't realize there was that much blue out there.

It is pleasing to see there is quite a bit of interest in the "Blue Group", so much so, that i went through my collection, and discovered i was holding a few more. I hope you enjoy these ones.

Doug, the K inside a circle with the bars on the sides is the logo for Knorr-Bremse.

I can't say that i'm familiar with that K symbol. The knife is the style I would prefer for a camp knife, just the basics,  not so many blades that you can't find the one you want. Not needing the corkscrew, I've always used my Gerber Multi Pliers when camping.  Too bad they're not made in blue.

While serving in the US Navy, I learned the art of telling a good BS story. A good BS story has to be grounded in truth, but embellished. Most BS stories are told around a a cold frosty beverage and who among us wouldn't prefer to hear a good BS story than a boring factual story under those conditions. Here is the truth of the matter. It was my birthday, I didn't have the time to respond to all the new postings on this group. The BS part, I wasn't incapacitated due to celebrations, I was working non-stop to get my house clean for a small gathering of friends to celebrate the 4th of July and my birthday. Now I won't deny that frosty beverages were consumed prior to and during the celebration, but I must confess that I was never incapacitated other than what occurred from the bleach fumes while cleaning my bathroom. Now, you be the judge....wasn't the first story with accompanying picture more interesting.
