Using unjacketed (bare lead) bullets will void the warranty on your Glock and lead to cladding of the bore, which is a serious safety issue. Stick with fmj or coated and your good to go. This is common knowledge for Glockers and leos, etc. Cheers

Glocks are durable guns.  They were designed for the Austrian military.  They started the trend to the synthetic frames.

With modern ammo, misfires are rare.  Usually it is because the primer isn't seated completely in the primer pocket.  If that is the case, the first strike will seat it and the second will fire it.

Glocks are good guns.  The only thing I have against them (and this is true of almost all striker fired guns) is they have no restrike capability.  If it goes click instead of bang, you have to rack the slide.  I have a Ruger P89 9 mm and a Ruger P97 45.  They are both true double action guns.  If I have a failure to fire, I can instantly pull the trigger again.  In my experience on those rare occasions that I have had a failure to fire, it almost always fires on the second try.

With the Glock (and all striker fired guns), they preach tap, rack, bang.  Tap the magazine to make sure it is seated, rack the slide to recock, and pull the trigger to fire.

Steve, IMO for pistols, you can't beat a Glock.

Well, that's right, but when you have a new gun, you want to use it.

Robert, I hope they get your granddaughter's gun fixed quickly.  If you had wanted her to have a single barrel, you would have bought her one instead of double! LOL

Since, opening day of hunting here in south Louisiana, a local gun smithing shop is taking in over 2 hundred guns a week to be repaired. One is my grand daughters 20ga. double, I bought her last year. A hammer spring broke, preventing one barrel from firing. They are fixing a 150 guns a week, hers may be ready this week.
