Lot's of holes drilled, both for pins, lanyard hole and to reduce the weight of the knife. And believe me, it makes a WORLD of difference.

Thanks JJ and Craig, did the heat treat last night. I think it turned out very well.

Looks great so far.  Can't wait to see the finished piece.

Thanks John (and Ron) I'd love to see pictures of what you're talking about since I'm having a hard time picturing exactly what you mean.

I really wanted to do a tapered tang on this one. But it wouldn't have worked well with the exposed tang lanyard hole that I wanted to do on this knife. So I'll save trying a tapered tang for another time.

This knife will be getting a pair of Zebrawood scales by the way.

Alexander, it looks like a beauty so far.The holes drilled in the handles for weight reduction made me think of a. knifemaker whose name I've forgotten from several years back.He had made a bird and trout knife with diminishing sized hollow brass pins throughout the handle of the knife (probably 6 or 8 pins throughout the handle.. It was a a unique look  and one I had saved in my " Favorite Knives" folder until a computer crash wiped it out.I only mention this as a possible idea for a future knife. Love your work!!
