C. 1925: Type 30 Japanese bayonet for Type 38 Arisaka Rifle; Tokyo Arsenal.

Classified as a sword-bayonet, this is an early example with a fullered blade; hooked quillon, contoured grips fastened with screws set in escutcheons, and a contoured birds-head pommel.

The leather frog is a museum-quality replica, whereas the original was rubberized leather or canvas.

Yepper - I'll work on that. My camera isn't that good for close pommel and tang work, but we'll see what I can do.
