One of the things that I like about Benchmade is that the overall quality of their knives tends to be consistent. It is so consistent, that sometimes it's easy not to recognize that they also have times where they'll produce a knife whose quality is "just a notch higher". Such is the case with the 860 Bedlam (manual version) shown in this photo.

From the moment that I saw the Bedlam design, it appealed to me. And the fact that it is a BIG folder sparked my interest as well. So I ordered one...

The second that I took this big fella out of the box, I knew that I had an unusually nice knife (even for Benchmade) in my hands.

The sweeping shape...appears to be a Persian-inspired design...has been flawlessly executed. And talk about sharp! Sharp enough to shave and then some! Rather than go "all black", I chose the satin finished version. The folks at Benchmade executed this aspect "just right".

I've also got a bit of a fetish for sculpted G10. Well, guess what? Yep...the Bedlam comes with sculpted G10 handle scales. And the handle actually fits my sirloin-sized paws quite nicely. Throw in the world-famous Axis-Lock just for good measure.

As indicated above, the quality on this knife is outrageously nice...and I could just go on and on and on about this new model. As tempted as I am to do just that, I'm gonna resist the urge...and you can read a review on the Bedlam in the Benchmade Addicts Knife Reviews forum some time in the not-too-distant future.
