Here's my Boot Knife family photo. Missing from the scene is my Gil Hibben boot knife...that one will show up on the Hibben Family photo.
Left to right: Western W75, Ebay Special from Pakistan, Muela MK-12, Gerber MK-I, Kershaw Special Agent, Colt CT-225, Rough Ryder RR1810.
Below Center, top to bottom: Rough Rider Amigo RR1345, Rough Rider Highland RR2378.

While mostly show pieces these days, the W75, Gerber MK-I, and the Muela MK-12 have all seen action either in the outback or on SAR active service. There's nothing like having a friend of the family strapped to your pack or in your boot when you need one.

Thanks Kevin for your comments. I absolutly understand and appreciate your position on the Boot Knife. For me however, Boots, Daggers, and Dirks have been my first love ever since I learned to sharpen a popsicle stick on the sidewalk. I'll see what I can to find that perfect boot knife with the combined features you described.

As far as the sheaths go - I'm with you on that. Make mine a quality leather sheath every time! And for boot knives, well, it better have that clip on it or it isn't quality.

Next family photo...Daggers!

I have never been much of a boot knife connoisseur... and in truth never been a big fan of boot knives.

That being said there are definitely aspects of these that I do prefer over others.

Based upon this group of knives, I like:   The blade size and shape of the RR Highland.  The ricasso flares or wings on the Western W75.  The guard and handle shape of the Kershaw Special Agent;  and the handle wood, pin size, and pommel cap on the RR Amigo.

Throw that conglomeration of  features on a knife and then stick it into a nicely made leather sheath.  Those Kydex sheaths that seem to be so prevalent now, are seen as an overall detraction from the whole setup by me.

Of course that is just my thoughts on things, and I certainly cannot argue against Kydex on a durability aspect.  I just don't like them.

Overall Lars, nice group shot of a family of knives.

Maybe I have not grown enough to include a number of blade styles in my interests.

I have never been a boot knife connoisseur...  or honestly had much interest in them.

That being said, There are definitely aspects of these that I do like.  I think I like the blade shape of the RR highland, but I like the ricasso flares like on the Western W75.  The Guard and handle shape of the Kershaw Special Agent and the look of the wood on the RR
