Yep, I'm looking for that book myself, Phil. That and Levine's Guide To Knives 4th Edition -- At a decent price, that is. 

This Boy Scout knife of yours looks practically brand new!

Not sure. I read a while back, don't remember where right now, that Western stopped making the fixed knives for the boy scouts in 1974. It has made in Boulder Co on the tang so I am thinking 60's. I have found ads in the June 1951 Boys Life magazine for the western fixed blade.  My next purchase will be the book "Knife Makers that Went West"  which is the history of  Western Knives. Hope to lean more by the time I get done reading it.

Do you know the age of this knife, Phil? Western Cutlery has an interesting history. One that I have recently found myself immersed in as the result of some Western knives I have purchased. Pretty cool stuff!
