Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

This will probably not surprise you; I like multi-tools. Over the years, I've had several (still do). I've never, however, owned one of the SOG multi-tools. So...I decided to give their Power Assist model a try. I haven't had this long enough to provide a lot of information, so I'll give you a few early impressions:

* The pliers function more smoothly than anything I've tried (including Leatherman's Wave model...which operates extremely well).

* The pliers open "wider" than any of the multi-tools that I've used. This "rocks"!

* The grip is surprisingly comfortable. Given that the pliers functions are the most important part of the tool, this is a "relief".

* It's a little lighter on tools than I would expect...but it has all the main necessities. Oddly, it has a strap cutter...but not a saw or a pair of scissors. SOG: Hello? Uh...why'd you leave off these basic tools? However, in saying this, I noticed that you can buy other tools to insert into this multi-tool; effectively customizing your tool (which is cool...ignore my accidental rhyming moment).

* The "Power Assist" on my main blade isn't very good and barely functions. In reading the manual, it appears that I can adjust this myself. Oddly, the Power Assist works quite well on the serrated blade.

* I like the sheath that SOG provides.

Now...if Leatherman...which is the reigning king of the Multi-tool world...would adapt SOG's plier design, LOOK OUT!!!!
