Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

This was strictly an impulse buy on my part, as it is not something I would normally add to the collection. However, I liked the overall look of the knife (a QSP Mustang), not to mention the wood, which is some of Raffir’s brown dyed spalted beech, and the mammoth tooth bolster inlays. The M390 blade is close to the max end of my preferred length, measuring in at 3.125". Anyway, have to say, while QSP is a relatively new knife company based out of China … their work (fit and finish, materials and overall quality) in this price range is on par with products from LionSteel or Fällkniven.

Thanks ... I still like the knife.  Turns out it was an impulse buy that doesn't disappoint!  In fact, VERY glad ... since I've heard from QSP that they are dropping the spalted beech from their handle choices.  A big bummer, in my opinion.  But hey .... I got mine while the getting was good!

I like that a lot! And M390 is nothing to sneeze at. My Barrage is M390. Sharpens well.

I had the very best of laughs through out your response Dennis. Now that I look for a 3rd time I see the steel! I have never seen the Hanging Hair test!  OMG...thank you so much for a good laugh while looking at a gorgeous knife

I too like it Jan ... but mainly for the wood and mammoth tooth bolster accents.  But, don't hate me if I say this .... but your eyesight is getting as bad as mine!  I was setting up a lift chair for my 94-yr-old father-in-law yesterday and was getting the information for the warranty card.  Trying to read the card, it (or so I thought) said that the product ID was stamped to the underside of the frame.  Looked all over and couldn't find it.  Went back to re-read the card, this time with a magnifying glass and discovered the card said that the product ID was "stapled" to the underside of the frame!! Sheesh!   Anyway, the blade steel is M390.  Can't tell you how well they heat treat the stuff ... but it sharpened in pretty much the same way that my lionSTEEL knives (in M390) do.  I know .... I am an edge snob.  I pretty much re-sharpen every new knife I get.  Was easily able to get the edge to pass the HHT test at level 4, with the edge sharpened to 26°/side.  Not sure I will actually use this particular knife enough to determine how well the edge holds up.
