Ha!! Learning something new every day.   :)

I did not know for sure what was meant by the bird's eye pivot.  I was thinking bird's eye maple (Why in the world would anyone use wood as a pivot?).

When I looked them up I realized what was meant...  kind of a 'duh' moment.  lol.

That bird's eye pivot looks to be easy enough to do...  and rather distinctive too.

I can understand not putting the birdseye on some of the handle materials, but a smooth one like the burlap simply cries out for one.

I don't totally disagree with you JJ, but as someone who likes to tinker with them....it's much easier with the 3/32" pin...LOL.  But yes, the birdseye pivot is very much a part of the soddy history and gives them that eclectic look.  This particular one is extremely light weight as well.  The red burlap micarta is super light and the contrast of the red with the black shield is very desirable...in my opinion.

I really like the sodbuster Jr.

Really nice knife for the pocket.  What I miss, though, is the birdseye pivot.   That pivot is what stands out on a soddie.
