Paul. did some web crawling for you- From what I can gather, your knife is an import- most say from China, although one reputable dealer says Japan- circa 1970's- Imported knives are still not required to have a permanent country of origin on the tang- The country of origin can be a removable sticker, only listed on the box, or ink stamped on the blade which is easily wiped off either purposely or accidently- Even so, the general asking price for your knife is $50+ around the web-Most USA stamped Winchesters past WWII are attributed to Blue Grass Cutlery, although some sources maintain Gerber made some of them~

All of the rest of my Winchesters are stamped USA

Vintage Winchester Blue & Silver Checkerboard Short-Boy. The only markings on this knife are Winchester Trade Mark. Does anybody know why the country of manufacturer is not stamped on this knife?
