Fred- That's a good thing !!--- means your knife is circa 1921-1924 with the earliest Remington tang stamp-Remington started producing knives in 1921---
I looked as good as I could and cannot see any part of a U.S.A. stamp under the circle .
Fred--When when you rotate the pen knife blade, do you see U.S.A. beneath the circular stamp??-- If the U.S.A. is there, your knife dates to circa 1924 -1933.However, if there is not a U.S.A. beneath the circle stamp then your knife is the earliest Remington stamp -circa 1921-1924 !! I suspect that yours is the circa 1921-1924 version-- Let us know either way, please----
better picture of pen blade and stamp
Thanks so much guys for the links I'll put a better picture on of the pen blade . I know what you mean about the searches J.J. they all want to take you to the movie info
Researching "Ben Herr" is next to impossible, unless youre looking for the movie, Ben Hur. Searchef for Benjanin Hurr yielded better results. Born in PA, died in IN. Overlap of his lifespan is also in line with the dates that John posted.
Not saying that this is the Ben Hurr, but here's the link...

Fred- That is a beautiful old Remington R-4334 Bartender's knife-- BTW, Remington had discontinued that pattern in MOP by the time their 1936 catalog came out, so your knife dates to circa 1921-1935-- If you can get a better pic of the Remington tang stamp on the secondary blade, I can narrow it further for you. BTW, there is an interesting article that talks about this knife here, if anyone is interested-
There is also a White Rock, Lancaster County PA and a family of Herr that lives there

Thanks for the comments and help everyone . I think the place in California and a lot of the other info I've found "Herr" is spelled with a U or "Hur" like the movie . So maybe J.J. is on to something . Like a guys name or a famous Bar or something ..
