Horace-Love those old Flame Edge knives !!  Robeson patented those in 1955 as the only knife with a  super-hard  tungsten carbide cutting edge applied to the obverse side. To sharpen, you only sharpened the softer side of the blade.Technique was patented in 1955. Yours is probably circa 1963. I have a Kinfolks Super Hunter with the Flame Edgewhich I love, and I had a guy actually call me after I posted pics of mine here sometime back to tell me how wonderful the knife was performance wise. Swore it performed rings around a Buck knife in dressing out 2moose he and a friend had both shot. With box and paperwork, yours would command a premium price. Here is a link to the saga of the Flame Edge knife-

The card in the box on the kinfolks knife had an article that stated: The knife edge was tested in the peeling of pineapples. The high speed steel blade regularly used had to be resharpened every four hours. the Flame Edge was still sharp after 550 hours of cutting. Rubber processing knives gave the same result. mechanical test have been so fantastic that cutting with steel may become a thing of the past.
