The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
I own a couple of factory-produced blades that have been customized...or described in the more modern vernacular; "they've been pimped". Frankly, I don't really understand why "pimped" is the word used to describe what has happened to the knives. I guess that the phrase "customized" just isn't hip enough anymore. In any event...
Shown here is a "pimped" Victorinox Camper. Instead of the typical plastic handle scales...this one has Carbon Fiber scales, courtesy of TuffThumbz (you can see his work on YouTube). The workmanship is just a touch rougher than I'd like...but good enough to make this my most unique Swiss Army Knife. Unfortunately, Geoff didn't include the toothpick and tweezers...but I like the knife plenty. Just kind of cool to have something this unusual.
