The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
As a general rule, I've never been a big fan of the "congress" pattern. The shape, at least for me, seems counter-ergonomic (both in handle and blades). However, GEC has produced some versions of this platform that really ring my bell. My first acquisition was a Northfield with Snakewood handle scales. I was so impressed with this that when I saw the Congress edition featured in this photo, I just had to have it.
First, GEC's "Burnt Stag" handle scales are fantastically beautiful. Second, the overall fit and finish of the knife is "magnificient". Third, I like the "Northfield" shield on the handle scale. I just like the way that it looks. The pinched front bolsters are also a nice little "extra" touch of sophistication.
GEC: This edition of the "congress" is so well executed that it's INSPIRATIONAL!
