The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Once again, I've got my buddy, Gary Norton/Northwest Knife Company to thank for the fine piece of steel you see in this photo. This is a GEC #73 in Pioneer Bone. I'm extremely partial to the two-bladed #73...and, in particular, love the new versions that have rear bolsters. This knife...this edition...makes an awesome add to my burgeoning collection of 73's (I may...the key word here is "may"...have more 73's than anything). The quality on this knife is, actually, "perfect". Everything is "high and tight"...from polish to fit to walk-and-talk. It just doesn't get better than this.
As an interesting point; I like the Frontier Bone handle scales alot; this knife features PIONEER BONE. The two treatments are VERY similar...with the only really obvious difference being that the Frontier Bone scales are darker. I really like this "light" version (that's how I think of "Pioneer Bone"). I have a 73 in Jigged Pioneer Bone and it looks very different from the GEC shown in this photo; both are incredibly superb knives.

Chris,
I dont own a pioneer bone yet. I am excited that this years club knife will be the jigged version. That is one beautiful knife you have there.
