The edge-holding performance on this one was less than desirable. The edge is hollow-ground & very thin. It only took limbing one Christmas tree to bend & tear the edge. Severe repair is in order! But it is light & agile.

Unfortunately I haven't attempted the repair yet.  It's been a while since I looked at it, but as I recall, there was a tear near the sweet spot that went about 1/4" perpendicular to the edge.  I'm not feeling too optimistic.

But it held up better than a Gavilan corn knife that I bought at a 2-for-$10 sale at BudK some years back. The Gavilan had chips that took 1/4" or so out of the edge.  It was like the beginning of some really wicked-looking serrations!

How did the repair go on this?

"The photos in the previous post are of an old German pruning type knife I just aquired. It surely is interesting, and quite old."
