Alec, 3rd time is a charm !!-This one is likely German-- A model K-98- Designed to fit the Karabiner 98 Katz rifle-This was a bolt-action rifle adopted as the standard infantry rifle by the Wehrmacht about 1937-It was one of the final developments in the long line of Mauser rifles--From what I can find out, that single letter maker code was probably only used in 1941- It was used to protect the identity of the manufacturer-(Probably,to keep from getting the crap bombed out of them)--Many of these single letter codes have been identified, thus far I have not found a reference to this one--Many are still unknown to this date--- I sent you a PM a while back requesting some info--If there is any additional info, I may still be able to ID the maker.

"The photos in the previous post are of an old German pruning type knife I just aquired. It surely is interesting, and quite old."
