Ah, you rounded the heel of the blade, got it.  I was in a panic looking at the Self Reliance Outfitters page to see if there was any bluing on Jeff White's knives, couldn't find any evidence of it (as opposed to some of the PKS/Pathfinder house branded knives, most of which now have a non-blued option).  Thanks for more details, JB!

You got it Manx. It hurt just thinking about putting my finger against it, let alone actually doing it. Much better now.

Gotcha...rounded off that sharp point at the back of the blade. That must be much more comfortable to hold.Maker's stamp

I dig Jeff White knives, but I guess I don't see the modification, unless -- did you remove the forging scale?  If so, is that stuff unsafe (for food prep, eg)?  Wait, he doesn't blue his knives, does he?

Thanks everyone. A year ago, I wouldn't have attempted modifying one of my knives, but I have learned to "Just do it" and I am not afraid to try much with a knife anymore. I hope to be able to make a knife or two this year.
