Hi dead_left_guy.  I find it a little odd that you would have to sharpen your Ranger that often.  They typically hold their edge pretty well.  The Ranger is USA made, it's not one of their Chinese made knives.  However, I am curious about where you purchased it.  $20 is a bit low for a Ranger, and that only raised my eye-brow because the 112 and the 110 are some of the most conterfeited knives out there.  Of course I don't know what you use yours for, but mine usually just to open packages, cut my apples and pears, and simple day-to-day tasks.  Mine don't get used hard.  If I needed a hard-use knife I'd probably go with a better steel.  I have a Leatherman multi-tool with an S30V steel blade and that thing is a monster for taking abuse.

I like it!  But I have to ask, how is the edge retention on that (Bantam?)?  I bought a great little Buck -- it was a plastic-handled 112, basically -- I love the ergo's, but the edge seems to dull by moving through the air (okay, it's not that bad, but I have to resharpen it often, to the point where I stopped carrying it.  It was about $20, so not a huge hit to the pocketbook, but just a huge disappointment.  Please tell me your knife holds up better than mine?  (If so, cutting against a ceramic surface would make that incredibly impressive!)

Blunt instruments LOL D ale

I still get weird looks when I take one out of my pocketbook to use in a restaurant.  I have always wanted to reply, I could sharpen the one you provided if you don't mind
