Jim,

Tang stamp on this knife is in three lines and reads: SCHRADE; WALDEN; N.Y.  U.S.A. back of blade reads 163. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you on this. I'd be interested in whatever info you find on this knife and the other one that I sent you earlier today. Thanks

Hey Tom! How do the tang stamps read on this old girl? ...actually, better to refer to "him" as an "old boy" -- his being a Jack knife and all. It was pictures just liekt his one that confused my life. I had chiseled in stone that I was just collecting rigging knives -- nothing else! -- NEVER!! 

...and then I just keep seeing pictures of these old, jack, rope knives. I could tell that each knife had its own story and I needed to hold them to feel that history.  WOE is ME!  :-(
