Today has a special meaning to anyone who has ever worn the uniform or knows someone who did. It means a time to remember why they did what they did. A time to remember those who endured hardship. To remember those who gave everything yet asked for nothing. This is a time to look deep within ourself and be thankful for those who gave everything they had for our freedom and did so without reservation or hesitation. When we see our flag flying over a gravestone, remember that here lies an American soldier who cared for this great land so much they were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. It truly brings home the saying, "All gave some, but some gave all". This is MEMORIAL DAY!! It's not national cookout day.
