Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

This is a part of my collection of WWII British weaponry. The exception in this group is the aluminum handled knife from New Zealand. This photo has been enhanced a little to remove glare reflected from my camera's flash.

Rob, if I remember correctly, the British used to call them "puppy guns" because British bicycle riders used them to shoot pesky dogs that tried to bite their legs as they rode by. There's some interesting photos and history of the Bulldog pistol in the REME Weapons Collection, which has a website. If you're interested, here's a weblink to their site:

Very cool piece. I've always like the little Bulldogs.

If I remember correctly, it's .41 caliber. It's been about 20 years since I put it in the display case, and I can't check it without opening up the case (the window frame is screwed to the shadow box) and turning the Bulldog over to see its markings. Thanks for your interest, though. By the way, welcome to our Group!
