A knife from my collection. If I have identified this knife correctly, it is an Indo-Persian Karud dagger. It's an extremely stout and deadly fighter made to pierce armor and chainmail. The blade is about 3/16- inch thick and its spine is reinforced with a steel flange along its entire length. The handle has what appear to be ribbed buffalo horn or bone scales riveted to a full tang. The handle is almost 1-inch thick and is a deadly "skull crusher." The scabbard is made of wood covered with sewn leather, and it holds the knife tight in it by friction.

According to the "Oriental Arms" website: the Karud dagger is the straight back member of the family of the Pesh-Kabz, Choora and Khyber Knife. The whole family of such daggers is common to India, Persia and several Central Asian countries.
