Always struck out trying to snag one of French knife maker Nicolas Weber’s Jackdaw slip joints. Well, a very dear friend who has one in his collection commissioned Nicolas to make me one for my birthday. What a glorious day. Red Gidgee covers with textured bronze bolsters and a 26C3 blade.

Wish I had friends like that.

Wow!  That friend of yours is freaking awesome!   I cannot fathom trying to acquire something like this for myself, let alone commissioning one for a friend.

A beautiful hamon line on the blade as well.  Gorgeous knife!  Congrats!

Christmas or not, Dennis, the title is yours.

Still, you have an amazing friend.

Thanks .... but, I just don't want him taking away my title as Knife Santa .... even if it wasn't Christmas!!

Now that's a good looking knife, Dennis.

The reverse tanto blade looks amazing.

You certainly got good friends.  ;-)
