The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Alright, alright. I admit it; I'm a SOG addict. Yes, there are some SOG models that aren't a part of my family...YET! In this photo are two of my favorite EDC knives; the SOG Flash II. The knife in the foreground features a combination blade and is one of my more frequently used tools. The knife in the back is a new acquisition; the plain blade version. Lightweight...with great handle texture, good ergonomics, fast deployment and a perfect pocket clip, the Flash II series gets an awful lot "right". The flat ground blade is perfect for cutting a variety of everyday materials. I really only have a single "knock" on this otherwise GREAT design; blade wobble. Yes, there is an adjustable pivot screw...so you can "tighten" things up a bit...but they always wobble...both side-to-side and up/down. Consequentially, I just don't put these to any "hard use". However, they work perfectly for basic EDC chores and make great companions (so comfortable that you barely know that they are there). SOG offers the Flash II in a number of various configurations (tanto plain, tanto combo, digicam handles, black tini blade, plain polished...and more).
