Harvested some Osage Orange back in January. It's been drying in the garage since. Decided I'd cut some slabs today for a project.

I did a couple end cuts .. to get past a crack that had developed early on ..and.. to evaluate how best to slab out some scale material.

At which point, I realized how nice this VG10 core dagger / boot knife blank might look if sandwiched in a natural section of Osage Orange.

Do a hidden tang design ........

I agree Dale, this would be great with a hidden tang.  Think of the beauty that will come thrugh as you start sanding!
