Still waiting Kees , but I only ordered it on Thursday ,I think ? I believe it was a Finnish holiday on Friday when they drink vodka  cos of it being midsummer . They probably get even less Summer than the UK !! I hope it will hit the post on Monday . Have you used Lamnia they have been a good firm to deal with so far and have a great selection of knives especially Nordic types .

lovely looking with the birch !!   when i bought mine these were not around yet ( unfortunately )

the nordic is a pretty pukka !!  good choice john !  a real traditional made knife and sheath

has your birk arrived already  or are you still pregnant  :-)

Those full tang Marttiini's are a good price , just looked them up on Lamnia , they do a curly birch handle as well .

Thanks for the info Kees I may have to get one of those Enzo Nordic's then !!

Just for anyone who is not familiar with the knife in question here it is .

thank you !

i like the sandvic steels personly john

the finns use this steel a lot ( also because its swedish )  the "M" means its even finer grained than normal 12c27

and with even better corrosion resistance

my buck alpha hunter (which i use regularly )  is also made of this  and it does the job

it is known a a very pure form of stainless

kershaw uses 14c28N  that sandvic created specially for them  with nitrogen and chromium

if you say steel  you say sweden right ?     ( ok i also like VG-10 , D2 , end elmax  a lot )

i think 12c27M is better than 440 c

and jan..  i heard they made the pakkawood handle on this one because is is better than othes materials in the extreme cold

btw  this is the only full tang that martiini makes , realy different from their other models....  i love this (very heavy) knife !
