Looks like WKC was formed in 1883 when Gebruder Weyersberg and WR Kirschbaum & Cie merged.  This company specialized in sword making, but also made other weapons and even bike/motorcycle parts.  

The company was bought out in 1922 but I am not sure if the WKC moniker was retained after it was purchased.

During this time, WKC was the largest company in Solingen.

That is cool.  That is the same facility that made my Brazilian 1908 Bayonet.  I need to research when that place started operations...
