You are right it is a Blackie Collins design.  Great knife for the money.  You're pretty sharp.  Don't know about the A.G. Russell question.

That's a Blackie Collins design, isn't it? Didn't A.G. Russell sell this knife a while back?

I think it's a really great looking knife. That cocobolo is gorgeous!
