Charles Luvin' your Shapleigh-- The curved Shapleigh/Hdwe.Co./St. Louis. Mo. tang stamp dates your fish knife to circa 1940-1960. Your cracked ice celluloid fish knife has 2 unique characteristics-- First, that particular tang stamp was normally only marked on the main blade- Yours was marked on both blades-- Second, that unique shield !! I have yet to find another with that fish shield-- Usually,other Shapleigh's either had no shield or the DE diamond edge shield-- That is indeed a rare and great find !!
Great looking fish knife!
I like the shield too but it looks to me like someone has cut an extra horizontal groove across the top of the fish. See the close up of the shield in picture 3.
