My sister gave this knife to me. She found it at an estate sale in a box marked "Take your pick $1"

Ken, I wasn't worried about the dime as much as the ice cream.  I had my heart set on eating it!  That 15 cents was all i had so I couldn't buy any more.  I don't remember exactly how old I was but probably around 10 or 11.

Already told Charles this in chat, but for the rest of you--- Average price for a plain version is $8-15-- Most of these were advertising knives for 5 cent Coca Cola or the rarer 5 cent Pepsi Cola which run about $30-- There were  also many regional advertising versions of this knife-- I actually saw a Coca Cola version with some provenence being offered for $70- LOL--  Not a bad $1 investment !!!

I remember once when i was a kid.  I had 15 cents so bought a triple dipper cone, first time ever.  I was walking along eating it and the top two dips fell off into the dirt.  I was crushed!

Yes Ken, I remember them well.  Not only soda was a nickel but also candy bars and ice cream.

Charles, I remember getting those little bottles of Coke for 5 cent. I'm sure you do to.
