I hope things don't get as bad as they are in the UK, no matter how small the pocket knife you have people still say "he's got a knife " as though you are a potential mass murderer .
Wish that were totally true Jakub. I felt that way when I was a lot younger. Been around a long time and worked my butt off to get where I am, only to have my elected officials take most of it away $ by $. It's my fault as much as anyone's since I thought everything was peachy keen and was not paying attention. Please take the time to arm yourself with the truth that you are not going to get in the media at large. I'm not an Armangeddonist, but I see a lot of things now that I ignored in the past.
How's the AHCA working out for you so far?
Great knife. I would also like to add that one of the main reasons why all of us are losing our rights slowly but surely, is the fact that we watch too much TV. Thats rights, the media is the reason why people are afraid of their own shadows! What do they show us in the news? Pain, violence, disasters, death, hate and more of the same... Unfortunately, too many of us do not know how to filter this information, and we take it as is. Believing that it is all present, all encompassing. This is not reality! In reality we are living in a peace and harmony with our surroundings. Being affraid only brings out the worst in us as people, and we are manipulated into being paranoid and mistrustful of our neighbours,of citizens of other nationalities, colours and religion. I would go on and on, but do not want to get all worked up.! Enjoy 2014 in peace and with love in your hearts.
Only thing I show politicians is the ballot to non-encumbancy.
They already have ways of finding out without my help.
Thanks for the information!
If you showed that to some politicians it would give them a heart attack! LOL
The knife was made by Lion ___ Germany the best I can make of it. Sure stirs up some memories don't it. lol ...Joe
Very cool of both you *and* him! Nicely done!
Carl,
He doesnt need the attention but he deserved a new knife! You are wonderful for telling him that common sense is something we should admire and all principles should aspire to
Kewl Knife! Love stuff like that.
Carried a knife all through school years and never thought of it as anything but a tool. It never occurred to me to use a pocket knife as a weapon (had guns for that stuff). Used to get called to the principal's office all the time so he could use my knife to cut something. He knew I kept it sharp.
I recently had the opportunity to let a current middle school principal know how much I appreciated his level headed common sense approach to "O tolerance". He knows his students and he knows boys sometimes forget to leave their PKs at home. He doesn't suspend, expel, write up, or discipline these kids...he just "borrows" their PK until after school hours and returns with a reminder for them to think about it. It is one of the few middle schools I have been in recently where the kids are actually happy and behaved.
He (principal) received a nice custom knife with a note of appreciation for Christmas.
No, not going to tell you who or where, he doesn't need the publicity or attention if you know what I mean.
This is a repost of Jakub Capek 's " wooden knives-finished" Apparently, the hysteria and lack of common sense is spreading--

Thanks for all your positive comments! I would like to add to what John McCain had written. It is gradually creeping in on everybody everywhere, this politically correctness anti gun/knife rules/hysteria. I grew up in the 80s in Canada and back then it seemed to be just the beginning. We couldnt carry pocket knives, nor t-shirts with obsene pictures or language, but otherwise I could have a knife on me outside of school. I did get caught with nunchucks by the police when I was 14, and they confiscated them... Supposedly they were illegal to carry... In the Czech Republic it is okay to have any type and length of knife on you. This will probably change, because Germany has strict knife laws as do other surrounding countries. All in all I must say that people should use common sense and not go beserk over something as innocent as carrying a pocket knife! I mean, its not the knife or gun that kills, but the person who uses it. I am very happy that my kids can show off their wooden knives to their classmates and nobody thinks anything negative of it.
Well done Jakub, and I am glad your kids can take them to school and share them with their friends, and be normal youngsters. Sad to say, here in the USA, they would probably be suspended or even expelled from school for bringing even a wooden knife to school !! Insanity and lack of common sense sometimes rule here, and children have been expelled for carrying such "dangerous items" as a set of nail clippers or nail file !! Yes,unforunately, there has been tragic violence in some of our schools, but now it seems, that hysteria is the "new normal" and common sense went out the window !! Just my two cents worth --
