The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
There's actually a story behind this collection, & it's not my favorite. (And no, it's not the shamefully unkempt state of this shamefully large collection...) I was having problems returning a knife to Kershaw -- it was one of the KAI kitchen knives: what should have been a straight edge had an accidental recurve, & what should have been a sharp tip was rounded off. All of this clearly happened at the manufacturer, before it was packaged up. Kershaw wanted me to pay to ship the knife to them & pay return shipping as well, on a $23 knife. I was upset, to say the least, & dropped this photo of whatever Kershaws I could scrounge to prove my loyalty as a customer, but they remained unmoved. Fortunately I bought the knife with the awful grind at Knife Center, & they not only sent me a prepaid shipping label, they replaced the knife for free, shipping included. And frankly, it's been my experience that most knife retailers are much better at the customer service side than most knife manufacturers. This experience just proved that hypothesis, for me at least.

There's my friend with all of his Kershaws! Albeit a bit dis-shuffled...but all there nonetheless. So sorry to hear of your plight in dealing directly with Kershaw, but I share Jeremy's sentiment in that i am pleased to hear KC took care of you. And rightly so....although you have no direct affiliation with them (so you say), you sure do promote them a lot. That's what makes you "that guy". :-)
So what's with the blades still in their original packaging? Are we saving these for some special reason?
That is sad that Kershawn did not take care of you properly. I am glad that Knife Center did. Kershawn makes some nice knives, but if they don’t take care of their customers, there are many other great knife companies to chose from.
