As I made a heart for my good friend Derrick it seemed a good idea to make one for my Good Lady.
I can't remember what the wood is but it is from the piece above, some sort of redwood that I found in my shed.

Wow! That turned out really nice. I love the grain, the way it sweeps across the face of the heart. I'm sure that Sue will hold this as one of her most precious and dear possessions. Good show, John!

John that is an exceptional gift and Dale is correct.  Sue will treasure this more the contents of an entire jewelry store.

Dale, yep...we are pretty much all just like that.  A flower from a field where you were thinking about her is priceless.

Thanks, Dale , Sue isn't supposed to be having anything bought for her birthday as she has given her birthday money away to help her sister out.

I think that I will have to buy her something anyway !!

I guess I am just keen on whittling really and simple shapes like this are just so satisfying to do, shows the wood grain so well.

Very nice, John.

Sue will likely value the heart far more than anything you could purchase.

Abby has a framed Lily I gave her.

I found it while running the (canine) kids  .. 12 yrs ago.

.

Very nice, John !!
