Exactly, Jan -- live blade butterfly knives are dangerous!  This trainer is a Boker Plus model. 

It's a bit of a pincher despite the fact that it doesn't use pins on the tang (the stop pins are actually inside the handle, in a style known as Zen Pins" (probably trademarked)).  

Still, I liked it enough that I had to pick up the live blade version once I found out that it existed.  However, I only found the live blade version at two stores, both European.  I went with Lamnia, since I've had good luck with them in the past, & have been happy I didn't wait until it went out of production to pick it up.  I have not played with the live blade version much, however, because I prefer the blood stay inside the fingers...

My grandson loves his trainer and i appreciate that he may have a few sore fingers but he still has them anyway
