R Hicks - paring 1
My first handmade, one-of-a-kind knife. Knowing the knife maker, I am pretty sure the blade steel is O1.
My church had a Wild Game Dinner tonight, and my wife (Jade) went and bid (silent auction) $5 more than what I said was my max for the knife. I had lost it, when she snuck over and wrote in her 'bid'. She already admitted (to someone else she was talking to) that it is a Christmas gift for me. She handed it to me when we got home.
The knifemaker is Randy Hicks. He is currently a journeyman smith with ABS.

Oh nice! Good looking knife too...kinda hard to argue with the wife when she out bid's you on a knife for you! (I can so empathize!!)
I don't see Randy as a member of iKC [yet]...you should invite him to join. I for one would like to see more of his work. Congratulations on your win - can't wait to read your review of it in action.
