This is the Achaea Damascus Bowie by Ash Blades, so named for the ancient beauty of the region in the northwestern part of the Peloponnese peninsula.

The Achaea Bowie (pronounced /əˈkiːə/) features a modern recurve clip point Damascus blade made of 1095 and 15N20 steel with custom file work along the blade spine. The custom file work on the brass guard, spacing rings and pommel imbues the knife with a sense of opulence while framing the Walnut and Cape buffalo horn handle beautifully.

Altogether, the Achaea is as beautiful an art knife as it is a functional tool. I score some exceptional “show-off” points when I pull it out to carve brisket or pork shoulder. However, with all the file work, it’s a bugger to clean. Although it is a capable knife, it is for this reason alone that I doubt its practicableness as a hunting or camping companion.

beautiful bowie lars.  fieworked guard and pommel caught my eye first.  looks good in black walnut skins.  double stitched sheath is a great match.
