Very True on watching for the old tools, less expensive and tend to still be around for the next person too
I started cleaning it up, its in great shape. Missing its flat sole but I wanted it because it has a round sole plate. The blade is reasonably sharp and with a bit of honing it should be great, I do plan on using it. Keep your eyes out for old tools people, they often work better than new and can be had cheap.
Michael-- Great old tool !! A little info for you.The Stanley No. 67 Spoke Shave was patented on Feb 25, 1896. In Stanley's 1914 catalogue, they announced a recent improvement. They added the feature of marking the rosewood handles L and R so they would not be threaded on the wrong side and loosen while in use. So yours is 1914 or slightly later. BTW, these currently sell on the web for around $65-75. Not to shabby a deal for the $1 you paid !!
It has an edge and it is very cool!
